She’s her own Boss – Celebrating Female Entrepreneurs 17/11/20

Celebrating Female Entrepreneurs

Join Carmarthen Enterprise Hub and BUCANIER as we welcome three inspiring speakers and award winning businesses to help us celebrate Global Enterprise Week.

‘She’s her own boss’ conference has been launched to celebrate and encourage female entrepreneurship in Wales. We sadly can’t all meet in person in 2020, on Tuesday 17th November we will be welcoming three entrepreneurs online:

  • Kelly Davies, co-founder of The Good Wash Company;
  • Marian Evans, founder of Elevate BC and owner of Llansteffan Castle;
  • Elinor Davies – Farn, owner of Olew.

Kelly, Marian and Elinor will share their business stories, experiences, challenges and top tips on starting out in business.

The event is inclusive and open to men too, not just women. You will have an opportunity to ask questions on Zoom or type your question into the chat function on the day. Please don’t be shy!

Women generally face more barriers and lack in confidence when it comes to starting out. Since women are identified as an under represented group in business start-ups, this event is designed to encourage and offer direction.

Join our influential female entrepreneurs and brightest start-ups to share ideas and feel inspired.

A brand that would look good in the finest of washrooms from Port Talbot to New York, feel good on the most sensitive of skin and fur whilst doing good by addressing some of the social issues within local communities. Kelly sees ‘Goodwash’ as an opportunity to test an emerging model in the social enterprise sector and further upscale impact within this important space.

Elinor Davies-Farn, Owner of Olew Hair

Entrepreneur from Aberystwyth, Elinor started her own business form her kitchen in London with only £100. Elinor created a range of hair products for curly hair, named ‘Olew’. Elinor said: Olew was born out of her own frustration at not finding the right products on the market to care for her own curly hair, Elinor had a desire to help ladies embrace their natural hair, whilst simultaneously promoting the Welsh language and culture. Harnessing the power of social media and digital marketing, Olew has grown an online community and the Olew range is also stocked in outlets globally. Business is booming as UK women embrace their natural hair during lockdown.
