WEXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL

Wexford County Council is one of 31 local authorities in Ireland and serves a population of just under 150,000 citizens.

The Council delivers more than 190 different services on a daily basis across 45 locations throughout County Wexford. It’s principle services include housing and community, roads and transportation, urban planning and development, amenity and culture, and environment. These are delivered through the broad headings of policy development, policy implementation, service delivery and regulation.

The local authority operates through a structure of 4 municipal districts, with each district centred around one of County Wexford’s four main towns. Wexford County Council’s operating and capital budgets in 2016 were €100 million and €75 million respectively. The Council employs almost 1,000 staff and has 34 elected members, headed by the Cathaoirleach.

Siobhan Gethings

Project Administrator for Bucanier is responsible for the effective coordination and administration of Wexford County Council’s commitment to the implementation and delivery of this six-partner BUCANIER Operation. Siobhan is new to Wexford County Council and comes from corporate background where she has managed projects in the Financial Services Sector and Healthcare Sectors in the UK.
